What we set
Every surface in the house, done in tile.
The studio
See it come together.
Tile is set one piece at a time, off a snap line, grouted tight. Pick a pattern and watch the field lay itself, the same patterns we run in real showers, floors, and backsplashes.
How we set tile
The part you never see is the part that lasts.
Anyone can stick tile to a wall. Whether it is still there, flat and watertight, in fifteen years comes down to the prep and the waterproofing underneath. That is where the attention to detail goes.
01
Prep the substrate
Flat, solid, and level before a single tile goes down. Skip this and the floor telegraphs every dip and the grout cracks.
02
Waterproof what gets wet
Shower pans, curbs, and niches get a proper waterproofing membrane, not just tile over backer board and hope.
03
Set it true
Snap lines, back-butter, and level as we go, so the pattern runs straight and the surface is flat under a light.
04
Finish the details
Tight, even grout lines, clean edges, sealed corners. The details are what read as custom.

Our mark
CF Custom Tile
Set right in Sioux Falls, SD since 2016
One small family crew, every surface set right and waterproofed to last. The red under the tile is the part you never see. It is also the part that makes it last.
We fix what others got wrong
This shower was set to fail. We found out why.
A previous installer left this shower without the waterproofing and support it needed. These are real photos from the tear-out, with what we found.
Wrong adhesive, unsealed seams, a curb with no waterproofing, and banding that never bonded. Four photos, one shower, every defect found in the tear-out.

Real before & after
Same room, set right.
A real storage room we re-floored, from worn carpet to wood-look plank. Drag the handle to turn it over.
Real work
Straight from the project album.
In their words
Homeowners who called back.
“I can not recommend Travis enough for his work. Great communication via text and phone calls. Work-wise there is great attention to detail, just overall a fantastic experience working with him on our projects. Will definitely use Travis again if we need future work done.”
“Travis was responsive, returned phone calls, text messages and emails. They started project when it was scheduled, showed up on time, cleaned up after themselves, and kept us informed of progress. Travis had creative flooring ideas and completed the project to our high expectations. The workmanship is second to none. We highly recommend them for your flooring needs.”
“He showed up when he said he would show up. We needed our shower tile floor repaired. He knew exactly what had been done wrong originally and how to fix it. The new tile floor looks fantastic! He is very good. I would hire him again if I ever need any flooring or tile work done.”
“I can't say enough how pleased I am with my flooring. The customer service from the top down was outstanding as well. Very friendly!”

Meet CF Custom Tile
A family crew you actually get to know.
CF Custom Tile is a small, family-owned and operated business that has been setting tile across the Sioux Falls area since 2016.
Travis is the one who answers the phone, comes out to look at the job, and does the work. Customers mention the same things over and over: he communicates, he shows up when he says he will, and the attention to detail shows in the finished tile.
